Summary:

The Patient Safety Communication Team has come together to raise awareness of patient safety issues; to identify resources on state, regional and national levels that enhance patient safety.  This team has developed the “Patient Safety Newsletter” to help communicate this information throughout the University of Missouri HealthCare System.

Project goals:

  • Provide the Patient Safety Newsletter which addresses the National Patient Safety Goals (NPSG)
  • Update the NPSG Computer Based Training Modules for the staff yearly
  • Provide the NPSG Reference ID Tag for all staff
  • Provide the NPSG Instructor’s Guide for managers
  • Provide the NPSG screensavers for all computers on patient care units
  • Provide Patient Safety Alerts to all staff as soon as a national or local concern is identified.
